Position Summary:
Manages all Purchasing and Materials functions within the plant
utilizing Corporate Procurement principles.
Required Qualifications:
1. Leads/Develops the plant purchasing activities and
deliverables, including national contract compliance metrics, plant
service agreements, contractor qualification, and negotiations.
2. Identifies processes to drive continuous improvements to
deliver plant and/or division purchasing goals. Ensures all
improvement teams are getting needed resources, following the
methodology, and progressing against the plan.
3. Lead cost savings projects across functions specific to spend
categories. Evaluates supply chains and spends for cost savings
opportunities. Supports the company's sustainability strategies by
incorporating the concept of recycle, renew, and reuse into all category
and sourcing strategies.
4. Provides coaching and direction to plant purchasing group, daily
approval and release of PR's/PO's, P-Card Administration, along with
resolution of purchasing issues.
5. People Management & Span of Control (Managers/Supervisors
Only)
Directs Purchasing and Storeroom team members. Reports to the
Plant Controller.
6. Supports Plant HS&E and Distribution groups with Capital
Project management (purchasing, asset capitalization, etc... )
7. Materials Management - supports operating departments
with raw material issue resolution (delivery, ordering, etc... ).
Purchasing and inventory analysis of raw materials to reduce stock and
obsolete materials.
Desired Qualifications:
Specific responsibilities include negotiation, contracting, and supplier
management for a manufacturing facility.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, prefer SAP
experience and Access database experience. WCM or TQM experience,
the ability to manage people and projects with little supervision, and
process improvement skills preferred. Knowledge of basic
principles of accounting to include accounts payable, general ledger,
and inventory processes preferred.
Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline desired or
equivalent experience is acceptable.
